Members' category – Liu Ming-fai
Say no to phubbing

The popularity of mobile phones has reduced communication among family members. Liu Ming-fai observed his 12-year-old son was addicted to his phone and had a serious psychological dependence. In order to help him establish a correct attitude and habit towards phone usage, he made an agreement with his son and the whole family. They expect his rebellious attitude since he is a teenager, but they agreed that the two hours after dinner every day are to be offline self-time, when the family sets their mobiles to forward calls to the home landline. This shows that they are all in it together. They also covered the walls with posters and words of encouragement, such as focus on the self and not be a slave to mobiles, to remind their son of the right attitude and precautions to take when using a mobile. Every night before bed, he did exercise with his son and put a blue-light filter on his phone screen to reduce the potential ill effects on his vision.

Open category (senior) – Ho Lai-shan
Prevention is better than cure

Prevention is always better than cure. Ho Lai-shan discussed and developed a comprehensive health plan with her husband. She accompanied him to the hospital to see the CT scan report of the imaging chemical injected many months ago. They refused the doctor's suggestion of having a more accurate surgical exam, and instead of getting a major scare in the future, she thought it would be better to address his current unhealthy situation by designing a health plan to manage it without drugs. She made a schedule of work / rest routines and meal times, and set an exercise target for him. And she revised her cooking methods to avoid oil. They set a rule on resting each hour when using electronic devices, and she developed a physical measurement at home.

Open category (intermediate) – Wong Fong-ying
Healthy plan for mum

Mothers often neglect their health while taking care of their children. To repay mothers for what they have done, we can start with small things. Wong Fong-ying developed an all-round physical, mental and social plan for her mother. She gave her mother loving reminders about getting six or seven hours of sleep every day, and she encouraged her mother to take up yoga to promote blood circulation and relieve stress. She became a confidante to her mother, listening to her and communicating more, and she took on more housework so that her mother could go shopping or travel with friends more often.

Open category (junior) – Poon Chung-yan
Health start with little things

Poon Chung-yan believed that little things in daily life can increase family time, aid relaxation and promote family bonding. They practice healthy living together by putting away mobile phones, expressing mutual care and giving gentle reminders about stopping unhealthy habits. Adults leading kids to use the stairs instead of lifts is environmentally friendly and a great way to bond. On weekends, they go outdoors, plant some seedlings and get close to nature. Remind each other of good living habits; get up early and exercise, pay attention to a healthy diet and read together to maintain physical and mental health. A family should start with the little things and take care of their health together! Click to view the winning movie.
