Cyclists from around the world gather in Hong Kong to ride for charity

The highly popular Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon will be on 8 October this year. The focus of the competition, the International Criterium, was upgraded by the Union Cycliste Internationale to an event on the Asia Tour this year and renamed the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Challenge. This will be the first time for Hong Kong to host a Union Cycliste Asia Tour Class 1.1 Road Race.

Extra donation from SHKP to child and youth services

SHKP continues as Hong Kong Cyclothon title and charity sponsor for a third year. There will be four races – the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Challenge, Team Time Trial and Men's and Women's Opens – plus five activities including 50km and 30km rides, a Family Fun ride, Kids & Youth rides and a CEO Charity & Celebrity rides. The 50km ride will start at around 5:30am on Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui on through the Cheung Tsing tunnel, over Tsing Ma and Ting Kau bridges to Nam Wan Tunnel and Stonecutters Bridge and Eagle's Nest tunnel. The Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Challenge will cover Salisbury Road, Mody Road, Science Museum Road and the Hung Hom bypass for a 5.15km circuit. The whole race is over 100km and spectators can take in the excitement of a cycling race up close and personal. SHKP will again contribute extra funds this year to promote charity through sports. This money and some from the events will go to local services for underprivileged children and youths.
