SHKP celebrates Year of the Rooster with lunches for 1,700 seniors from Tai Po and Southern District

SHKP recently hosted its seventh annual poon choi lunches for some 1,700 seniors living in Tai Po and Southern District at Noah's Ark in Ma Wan, to celebrate the Year of the Rooster and show care and good wishes to the elderly.

Promoting love in the community

The atmosphere was one of fun and cheer as goodie bags were given out and some of the senior guests played music, danced and did tai chi in an entertaining variety show enjoyed by all. SHKP Deputy Managing Director Mike Wong and Executive Director Eric Tung gave lai see to the six eldest guests in their 90s, who thanked SHKP for the show of care.

Hong Kong is SHKP's home and it believes in using its resources and expertise to give back to society. The Building Homes with Heart Caring Initiative helps repair and refurbish seniors' homes and stages visits to less-fortunate families and the elderly around the city to spread festive cheer. The SHKP Volunteer Team visited seniors identified by social service agencies for lunar new year and gave out more than 7,000 goodie bags to extend love and care to all.
