Having Hello Kitty manage a neighbourhood store might sound fantastic, but the innovative YATA store that came to Hong Kong Island at the beginning of the year is celebrating its opening by introducing the first Hello Kitty Pop-up Supermarket in the world. YATA brings high-quality foods to the residents of Island West and increases the appeal of gourmet shopping with a fresh new mix & match concept. Hello Kitty appears in a new role as store manager to guide visitors through a fun-filled consumer discovery.
Visitors stepping inside the Hong Kong Plaza where the YATA store in Sai Wan is located are greeted by three-metre milk carton, butter tray and scale-shaped food counters with eye-catching Hello Kitty decorations to delight fans. And each features treats like macarons on the theme of YATA & Hello Kitty, ice-roll cakes, cupcakes, popsicles and more; some with Hello Kitty faces for a sumptuous treat!
Hello Kitty guides guests through the store: the Hello Kitty zone at the ground floor has a giant fiberglass Hello Kitty manager to introduce 250 different Hello Kitty food products, souvenirs and collectibles; some exclusively imported from Japan. How lucky can Hello Kitty fans get? The escalator to the first floor reveals Hello Kitty shopping carts and baskets for fans on their YATA & Hello Kitty tour. There are fresh vegetables and fruits, meats and seafood, sushi bentos, salad cups, candies and biscuits, noodles, beverages, spices and sauces, paper plates and cutlery, kitchen paper and more, with Hello Kitty everywhere to make it a destination for die-hard fans and a shopping hot spot for everyone.
Hello Kitty fanatics checking out with carts full of goodies are in for more surprises! Hello Kitty arrows on the floor show lines to Hello Kitty payment counters, and there are exclusive YATA & Hello Kitty Pop-up Supermarket shopping bags (with HK$0.5 bag levy) and Hello Kitty receipts.
The YATA & Hello Kitty Pop-up Supermarket is open until 31 May 2017.
