SHKP promotes exercise for good and raises HK$3 million for child and youth services with Hong Kong Cyclothon

SHKP reprised its role as title and charity sponsor of the second Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon in late September. The event that helped build physical and mental fitness was a great success and SHKP took this opportunity to promote exercise for good and spread positive energy, projecting the vibrancy of Hong Kong to people from around the world.

Cycling fun for all ages

More than 4,600 cycling enthusiasts from Hong Kong and overseas took part in the event. Cyclists in the 50km Challenge Ride enjoyed beautiful scenery along a route that took in three tunnels and three bridges for the first time, while participants in Kids & Youth Rides pedalled a route that was extended along the harbour front. Children referred by the J Life Foundation and The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong took part in the Family Fun Ride with relatives, and more than 500 SHKP staff and their family members entered in different segments of the charity event.

Working out to benefit the whole community

The Cyclothon and an earlier indoor Bike Challenge for Charity raised over HK$1 million in registration fees and donations, and SHKP will contribute two dollars for each dollar raised making the company's donation over HK$2 million. The proceeds will go to The Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong, J Life Foundation, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and The Community Chest of Hong Kong for the benefit of children and youth in need.
