Helping young people find their paths

SHKP's commitment to spreading knowledge and experience continues as it offers internships to 22 young people in the 2016 Modern Apprenticeship Programme with Breakthrough. The programme is intended primarily for Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination candidates, students pursuing a Yi Jin diploma or in the Youth Employment and Training Programme and people between 16 and 24 without higher education.

SHKP mentors by their sides

SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok was at the programme announcement, saying: "We often stay safe and follow the path that most people take, just because it's broad and well trodden, but doesn't mean it's suitable for everyone. This is why SHKP and Breakthrough try to help young people struggling to identify their paths so they can find their own way through our Modern Apprenticeship Programmes." Participants will spend ten weeks in SHKP subsidiaries including construction and property management, hotels or Noah's Ark Hong Kong for their internships, with SHKP staff as mentors coaching them on the job and helping them make the most of the opportunity to explore their aptitudes and career aspirations.
