SHKP and PolyU sign MoUs on Building Innovation & Technology Research Projects and Scholarship Programme
Promoting green construction and Hong Kong's smart city development

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) have joined hands to research into innovative building technologies. The signing ceremony of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) was witnessed by the Financial Secretary, Paul Chan; the Director General of the Youth Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, Zhang Zhihua; and SHKP Chairman & Managing Director, Raymond Kwok. The two parties will work together on three areas, including green applications (research and development of smart building energy management systems), green building materials and green building processes. They will also establish the SHKP x PolyU Building Homes with Heart Scholarship Programme to support outstanding students with financial needs to purse studies in construction, real estate and engineering-related disciplines and aspire to further their career in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area or other cities in the Mainland and nurture talent for the industry. Raymond Kwok hopes the integration of SHKP's wealth of practical experience with PolyU's strengths in academic research will promote innovation and technology research in the construction industry, responding to the major strategic decisions concerning "peak carbon and carbon neutrality" laid out by the National 14th Five-Year Plan. This initiative will help Hong Kong become a green, low-carbon international innovation and technology hub.

SHKP supports the Strive and Rise Programme and continually devotes resources to youth development

Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) is committed to helping young people play their part and contributing to the reduction of intergenerational poverty. When young people grow, Hong Kong grows. When there is a future for young people, there is a future for Hong Kong." Around 250 SHKP employees have signed up to participate as mentors in the programme. The Group is also happy to organize various activities to broaden the horizons of the participants and help them explore opportunities for personal development, thereby fostering a new generation of patriotic talents and contributing to the development of Hong Kong and the nation as a whole.
