The Hangzhou International Finance Centre is officially named in keeping with the IFC brand concept of excellence

Sun Hung Kai Properties' (SHKP's) joint-venture Jianghehui development in the Qianjiang New City CBD in Hangzhou has recently been officially named Hangzhou International Finance Centre (Hangzhou IFC). This is SHKP's fourth instalment of the IFC brand since its debut in Hong Kong in 1998, extending it thereafter to Shanghai and Nanjing, and now bringing a landmark large-scale commercial complex to the urban landscape of Hangzhou.

Ingenious landmark with meticulous architecture and design

Hangzhou IFC sits at the intersection of Qiantang River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. It comprises seven plots of land across two riverside sites, River East and River West, with a gross floor area of about nine million square feet (about 836,000 square metres). With magnificent views of both sides of the river, Hangzhou IFC enjoys a unique and advantageous geographical location. The project was planned and designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, an international architecture firm. Inspired by Hangzhou's unique cultural heritage of the leno silk weaving technique and adopting the concept of "seamless and integrated development", an iconic footbridge joining the River East and River West sites across the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is designed to complement the elegant riverbank curves. The project's architectural façade was inspired by the tidal changes of the Qiantang River, and it forms a beautiful urban landscape set against the canal footbridge and Ferris Wheel to create a magnificent urban landmark along the river's banks.

Superb transport links enhance international status

Hangzhou IFC features an excellent urban and intercity transportation network. Three metro lines provide fast links to all destinations with direct connections to two metro stations currently under construction. The direct line linking the project and Hangzhou East Railway Station, one of the main transport hubs of Hangzhou Intercity Railways and the high-speed railway network, is only about 3.5km. Hangzhou IFC comprises quality offices, high-end shopping malls, premium residences, five-star hotels and serviced apartments. It synergises Hangzhou's competitive edge in economic, environmental, cultural and social dimensions, while seamlessly linking the flow of traffic, people and information to create a world-class synthesis of business, fashion, leisure, tourism and urban landscape. It will comprehensively enhance the strategic position of Qianjiang New City and even Hangzhou as an international city, which is conducive to the region's future economic development, attracting talent and growing leisure travel, and promoting the exponential development of Hangzhou.
