SHKP Club's "The Bliss of Loving Home" campaign encourages a blissful family with love and joy

SHKP Club's annual theme for 2021 will be "The Bliss of Loving Home". A series of online and offline member activities will be organised by the Club to encourage everyone to show love and care for their families, and to do a little more for their loved ones, bringing about more joy, warmth and togetherness.

Conveying love and positivity to enhance family happiness

SHKP Club will first launch the "Loving Home with Endless Joy" Competition, inviting members and the public to share ways they bring joy and happiness to families, such as uniting family members, creating surprises for loved ones, and discovering new parent-child experiences, so as to promote a more blissful and loving home life. The competition comprises a Member Category and an Open Category (Junior, Intermediate, Senior). There are no restrictions on participants' age or entry format. We welcome text, pictures, drawings, multimedia videos, etc. The competition offers a rich assortment of prizes that are worth more than HK$200,000 in total for over 350 prize winners. We look forward to your participation!

Loving Home stories full of bliss

Every family has their unique, pleasant memories. By sharing the following stories, we hope to explore more tips for a harmonious home and a joyful family life, and that reflect the Loving Home Spirit.

The secret sibling plan
The road to bliss: Unity can bring true joy

When my parents got married, they did not have the chance to throw a wedding. On their 25th anniversary, my elder brother, elder sister and I planned a secret silver wedding anniversary party for them. Although at first we had different opinions and encountered some hurdles, we were able to resolve the issues together and take up the work involved. My elder brother contacted our relatives and their friends, my elder sister booked our parents' favourite restaurant and dishes, and I helped to set up the venue. On the day of the party, Mum and Dad were moved to tears upon arrival. Mum held us tightly and said, "The thing that made me the happiest, was to see you three together in unity!" As long as we three are united, more happiness and joy will be brought to our family!

Sweet surprises
The road to bliss: Always delight your beloved with something new

My wife and I have been married for ten years. We still always create little surprises for one another even though we are both busy at work. Once, when I was preparing eggs for my wife's lunch, I secretly cooked one in the shape of a heart and hid it in her lunch box. It made her laugh a lot, and she said it looked all out of shape and extremely funny. A few days later, I found that she had hidden a heart-shaped home-made cookie in my briefcase, and it really made me smile. These sweet little ideas make us feel warm and touched, which delights our day as well. We always think of each other, and cherish the wonderful time we spend together at home.

Happier together
The road to bliss: Accompany your children as they grow

My son is a bit quiet, but recently he has been indulging in an electronic sports game. Seeing him running and jumping in front of the TV is so interesting. I asked, "Can Daddy and I join you to play?" Without saying a word, he switched the game to team mode and showed us how to play. He reacted quickly while my husband and I were clumsy, which was quite hilarious. Finally, we worked together and completed different physical tasks. We three had so much fun playing together at home! It has also given us time and opportunity to communicate more with our son. Our discussions are not limited to "How was school today?" now. We are even able to discover his great ideas and thoughts. We will definitely accompany him more and experience many more joyful moments with him.

The most amazing long-distance runner
The road to bliss: Treasure your elders and pass on the joy

Grandfather was a running coach when he was young. Though he cannot run anymore because of a bad foot, he is still very passionate about long-distance running. So I asked him to teach me some running skills. Grandfather was very excited to "crack the whip" again, and took me to the sports ground to teach me the correct running posture. He also shared interesting stories with me about his past training, which helped me to understand him on a deeper level. I could not believe how incredible he was back then! As I listened to Grandfather speaking, I could see him beaming with joy, and it made me so happy too. It was such a pleasure to be able to share his experiences and memories!
