Education sets the foundation for future. The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation has been providing assistance to students with limited financial means on the mainland to attend universities. Its recipients at Shanghai Fudan University and Peking University visited SHKP and expressed their gratitude.
Recently, the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation decided to launch the second tranche of sponsorship funds to Fudan University. Together with an initial sponsorship grant, the Foundation has donated more than RMB 10 million to the fund. The second tranche will assist 660 students to attend undergraduate courses. Moreover, the Foundation set up a new scholarship scheme to help Fudan University students to participate in overseas exchange programmes. Every year, the scholarship subsidizes four promising students with limited means to join exchange programmes at renowned overseas institutions. At the donation ceremony, SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok expressed her pleasure that students can fulfill important roles in society after graduation. She hopes that the new student beneficiaries will grasp their opportunities to broaden their horizons and shape their future.
On the other hand, a delegation from Peking University visited the management of SHKP in Hong Kong. The delegation praised SHKP as a wise investor in educational infrastructure throughout the years, nurturing generations of outstanding students. Other than endowing Peking University a scholarship, the Foundation also funded the construction of the Sun Hung Kai Building for the School of International Studies at Peking University in 2004. This donation contributed to the nurturing of experts in international studies, diplomacy and foreign affairs who have since gone on to become teachers, researchers or top practitioners in the fields.
