Catch elegant feather art works and the 5-metre Snoopy figure, the world's tallest, as they appear at the Shanghai ifc mall in Lujiazui, Pudong, and the iapm mall on Huaihai Zhong Road, Puxi, this summer. They are now presenting shoppers with a visual feast.
The Shanghai ifc mall is now showing the 'Impress the Globe: A Feather Art Sculpture Exhibition', which features more than twelve masterpieces of feather art by renowned feather art sculptor Chris Maynard. This is the first time these artworks are exhibited on the mainland. It is a bird's unique body structure to have such light feathers, which explains why Maynard enjoys collecting beautiful feathers shed by the birds and then using them as an art material. Creatively exploiting the shapes and colours of the feathers, Maynard gave them an extraordinary beauty by re-creating scenes of birds flying or perching on branches. Interested shoppers are welcome to visit the exhibition which is open till August 25.
Despite its timeless black and white appearance, Snoopy the dog has brought to children a world of brilliant colours. The iapm mall has specially arranged for the well-known dog boasting a 5-metre height to fly all the way from the US to Shanghai for the 'Snoopy™ Peanuts 65 Years of Evolution Art Exhibition'. The exhibition will also showcase the world's tallest Belle, a 4.3-metre figure of Snoopy's pretty sister. Visitors will also see how Snoopy looked from the 1950s to 1990s and they can relive the great moments Snoopy has spent with his good friends, notably Charlie Brown, through viewing classic comic scenes. An online pop-up store will also be installed at the exhibition area for shoppers who want to purchase the latest Snoopy merchandise, souvenirs as well as limited edition products.
