From now until 25 November, members of the public aged 16 or above can download the "SHKP Vertical Run for Charity" mobile app to join "Step-Up for Health" to train up for the upcoming vertical run, and get a chance to win a prize. The "Race to Shanghai IFC" successfully took place in mid-October. All proceeds will go to Shanghai Children's Health Foundation to support medical treatment for underprivileged child patients at the Shanghai Children's Medical Centre.

Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon

The Hong Kong Cyclothon 2018, with SHKP being the title and charity sponsor, was successfully held on October 14, attracting more than 5,400 cycling enthusiasts. Charitable elements were kept to this year's event. SHKP continued to make extra donations and along with a portion of the proceeds from the event organiser, will be donated to support services for local underprivileged children and youth. To spread the cycling joy in the city, SHKP also organised the "SHKP Hong Kong Cyclothon Carnival" at Hong Kong Velodrome in Tseung Kwan O, which attracted nearly 1,000 participants.

To promote cycling among students, SHKP partnered with the Hong Kong Cycling Association to introduce the "SHKP Cycling Academy Pilot Scheme" in September this year, providing professional training to around 200 secondary school students and offering intelligent bikes and track cycling equipment to participating schools. The scheme aims to not only boost the cycling techniques and resilience of the students, but also identify and train potential young cyclists for the Hong Kong team.

SHKP Reading Club

The SHKP Reading Club's autumn signature programme, "Read On, Move On", combined the joys of exercising and reading by taking participants to locales featured in selected books and popular culture through guided stairway and cycling cultural tours. One of the locations visited was Shin Hing Street, where the movie The Kid was filmed. Next up will be the "Reading in Nature" hiking tour in early November organised by the SHKP Reading Club and "Green Power". As the finale of the series, the tour will take participants to Lung Fu Shan in Hong Kong's Central and Western District to enjoy the natural autumnal environment and recommended good books about nature.

Please visit the SHKP Reading Club's Facebook page or website for more details.
