SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation continues assistance for deserving students at Hunan University

The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation has reached an agreement with Hunan University to donate RMB2.5 million over the 2017-2019 academic years so that talented but economically disadvantaged students can complete undergraduate degrees.

Motivating recipients to pass on the torch

SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok recently signed a scholarships and financial aid agreement with Hunan University. She said that Hunan University was among the first mainland universities to receive Foundation support, and it had clearly been effective in providing opportunities for outstanding students from poorer families. She would look forward to seeing the beneficiaries of the aid pass on the caring spirit after they graduate by contributing to their alma mater and society, as well as to excel in their fields. The Foundation will provide additional scholarships for students achieving the highest marks in the coming academic years to encourage them to strive for progress and excellence.

Hunan University Deputy Party Secretary Yu Xiangcheng thanked the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation for its long-term support for the University. He said that nearly seventy percent of the fund recipients went on to earn master's or doctoral degrees and their employment prospects have been good with many being hired by the government or large Mainland enterprises. The university is assisting current beneficiaries of funding to establish an alumni association to ensure the charitable tradition carries on.
