Preview of the East Point City Loveth Thy Neighbour Ocean & Dive Festival

SHKP Club arranged for members to preview the "Loveth Thy Neighbour - Ocean & Dive Festival" at East Point City in Tseung Kwan O on July 30 to let them find out more about diving.

The exhibition took up 7,000 sq ft in the mall, combining sports, fun and education. Apart from aquarium, the event also included exhibitions of diving collectibles, underwater photography, plus a theatre, scuba-diving classes and diving sports gallery. Of all the exhibits, the skulls of the common bottlenose dolphins and finless porpoises, whose habitat is in the Indian Ocean, are first such on display in Hong Kong, hired from Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. Members also had scuba-diving training with full gear in the makeshift tank - the first such tank erected in a Hong Kong mall - coached one on one by qualified professionals from Hong Kong Underwater Association. The exhibition and the activities have enhanced members' understanding of underwater world and their awareness in environmental protection.
