General knowledge
  • Dehumidifying capacity ranges from 9 to 20 litres per day. A 16 litre dehumidifier is adequate for a 600 sq ft unit, and a 9 litre one is enough for an area under 100 sq ft.
  • Some models have extra functions to purify the air, remove odours, filter out small dust particles and even dry clothes, to suit different needs.
  • Keep most doors and windows closed while the machine is running.
  • Clean the filter regularly.
  • The wattage of a 16 litres dehumidifier ranges from 250 to 300. To run a 250w dehumidifier for four hours will take one kilowatt.
  • Air conditioners also dehumidify the air, but they are relatively inefficient for this. It is best not to run an air conditioner when the weather is wet and cool.
