Mr Shek is an Associate Publisher at a local newspaper, radio host, regular seminar speaker and a writer of investment books.  He sums up his approach to stress management with the phrase: "It's not a big deal, is it?"

Cooking hairy crab for wife

Even though Mr Shek is busy, he is very sweet to his wife and makes time to cook for her on special occasions.  The couple enjoy their favourite delicious crabs and the opportunity to enhance their relationship.  Many Hong Kong families eat out for convenience and sacrifice family togetherness, but Mr Shek's thoughtfulness in cooking for his wife shows his love.

Contemplating life on commute

Mr Shek likes taking public transport to work, as he doesn't have to worry about finding a place to park.  On public transport are a lot of chances to see real life.  He says: "If you pay attention to the people and events on public transport, you realize it's like watching a TV drama and learn about life and social trends.  Listen to what people talk about and you learn about life."

Bargain shopping for fun

Mr Shek likes shopping for bargains even though his wife always urges him to buy nice things. "At bargain prices, I can buy more, which gives me satisfaction." Contentment and frugal spending are part of Mr Shek's happy life philosophy.

Home is my castle

Mr Shek said: "When I face difficulties, my home is certainly my castle and my biggest support. Any difficulty can be overcome as I know that my family will always stand by me. Relationships among people are built on the way they get along with each other. Active involvement in the family strengthens the castle and the castle provides support to the family in return."
