Reading and Urban Living seminar

Sun Hung Kai Properties established the SHKP Book Club to promote reading in the community, a series of seminars with noted authors and scholars speaking on reading-related topics are held in January and March this year with Professor Yu Dan, Joseph Sung and Ho Hoi Lam. The third seminar is held at Hong Kong JW Marriott Hotel on 13 April with cultural commentator Leung Man-tao, Central Policy Unit member Lau Sai-leung and Senior Instructor Ivan Choy from Department of Government and Public Administration of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, talking about reading and urban living. SHKP Club reserved a number of seats for members so that they could learn from the speakers.

The three spoke about the relationship between personal interests and reading, then moved on to the latest trends in reading fashions and recommended English and Chinese titles in literature, history, dining, architectures and fine arts, guiding the audience to discover the latest reading trends, world development and other socio-cultural topics for a quality lifestyle. Members thought the seminar was very enlightening, noting that the seminar had broadened their horizons.
