The CHAT awards are a key part of China Hotels And Tourism Conference. All hotels in the 2016 China Hotel Industry Study were eligible for the CHAT Star Hotel Owner of the Year award and the results were tabulated from market research conducted by Horwath HTL, one of the world's largest hotel and travel consultants, and the China Hotel Industry Study's hotel operating index published annually by Horwath and the China Tourist Hotel Association. The selection criteria include operating profit indicators, in-depth interviews with the organizers and hotel managers, having effective communication mechanisms and ensuring that asset management processes are effective and provide increasing returns on assets.
