SHKP and staff support charity

Enthusiastic SHKP staff took part in a number of recent charity events with the company’s support.

Showing care from the start

There was Race to ICC-100 - SHKP Vertical Run for the Chest organized with The Community Chest of Hong Kong at the end of last year, and then SHKP sponsored the Community Chest Corporate Challenge for the 18th year. SHKP Chairmen and Managing Directors Thomas Kwok and Raymond Kwok led hundreds of staff and their relatives and friends for a good cause, and both of them completed the 10-km race. All funds raised went to rehabilitation and aftercare services under the Chest without deduction.

Thomas Kwok told runners at the opening ceremony: “I am very pleased that the Corporate Challenge has drawn a record 2,000-plus runners this year, an increase of more than 30% over last. We are running to help the needy.” SHKP’s Royal Plaza Hotel had a refreshment station near the finish line to support the runners.

SHKP also sponsored over 200 staff runners in the full and half marathons and 10-km races in the latest Hong Kong Marathon to promote sports and the spirit of helping the needy.

All for physical and mental health

SHKP places great emphasis on physical and mental health for staff and encourages them to participate in all kinds of sports. It even invites professionals to help them prepare for events, such as when SHKP had Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association coach for 2012 Wong Ka-ming give advice about training schedules, running form and physical training for long-distance running, as well as talking about the benefits and fun of the sport.
