Over 1,600 elite runners and enthusiasts in SHKP Vertical Run for Charity – Race to Hong Kong ICC

The SHKP Vertical Run for Charity – Race to Hong Kong ICC was a great success in early December and a major international sporting event of the year. Official guests at the opening ceremony included SHKP Chairman & Managing Director and Event Organizing Committee Chairman Raymond Kwok, SHKP Executive Director Adam Kwok, Chief Secretary for Administration Carrie Lam, Hong Kong Council of Social Service Chairperson Bernard Chan, The Community Chest Campaign Committee Chairlady Rose W M Lee, SHKP Chief Financial Officer and Event Organizing Committee Co-chairman Patrick K W Chan and Event Organizing Committee Co-chairman Edward Cheung.。

Vertical running an inclusive sport for all ages

Raymond Kwok said: "Response to the Race to Hong Kong ICC is getting more enthusiastic every year, which proves the increasing popularity of vertical running and suggests that more people believe in the spirit of sport for charity. We hope that sport improves people’s health and brings benefits to the community to achieve a healthy, sustainable lifestyle." Turnout rose from about 1,200 to over 1,600 in the fourth time SHKP ran the event, and participants included seniors, secondary school students from across Hong Kong and people with disabilities who took on the challenge. The funds raised will go to support services for underprivileged children and youth through The Community Chest of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Council of Social Service.
