Read on the move with the SHKP Reading Club

The SHKP Reading Club is combining reading with sport in a series of initiatives to encourage a different way of enjoying reading this autumn.

Reading on the go

Reading doesn't have to be a quiet activity; readers can go beyond books and out into the world. The SHKP Reading Club's new Reading x Sport campaign kicks off with a guided cultural cycling tour on 24 October where participants will be able to appreciate the new and old of Sha Tin's walled villages from bicycle seats. They will also learn about the city's history from The Chinese University of Hong Kong Department of History Adjunct Professor and former Hong Kong Museum of History Chief Curator Dr Joseph Ting, who will additionally recommend books on related topics. Other activities in the series will include an "I am 2A – Athlete & Author" seminar with amputee athlete Fung Kam-hung and the city's Spider Girl Lisa Cheng on 31 October, a guided cultural tour of stairways on 14 November and another seminar with noted radio host Michael Leung about the Ladder of Life on 21 November. Details can be found on the Club's facebook page.
