SHKP believes in Building Homes with Heart and caring for the community. The SHKP Volunteer Team is ten years old and now has over 2,000 members. The team takes part in all manner of initiatives that let employees fulfill their potential and contribute to the community.
SHKP Volunteer Team Chief Leader Michelle Leung, Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency General Manager (Leasing) Fiona Chung, Kai Shing Management Services General Manager Irene Wai and Sun Hung Kai Real Estate Agency Assistant General Manager (Leasing) Evelyn Suen became decorators and joined staff volunteers to help close to 100 households of senior singles and couples displaced by the redevelopment of Pak Tin Estate move to Shek Kip Mei Estate. One tuneful senior even composed a song to thank the volunteers!
The Volunteer Team has been helping elderly households affected by big redevelopments move for many years, in particular from Tung Tau, Shek Kip Mei, So Uk, Ngau Tau Kok Lower and Pak Tin estates. Volunteers use their expertise in engineering, construction and property management to assist the seniors as they choose, inspect, decorate and clean their new homes. They also look in before and after the moves to help people settle in their new surroundings.
