Helping underprivileged students study at Xi'an Jiaotong University

The SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation recently met with Xi'an Jiaotong University to discuss for a collaboration offering scholarships and grants to help promising students with limited means to study at the university by providing over HK$1 million in assistance to nearly 150 young people.

Encouraging students to participate in social initiatives

Xi'an Jiaotong University is widely known for engineering and architecture, with national-level research programmes and international academic exchange networks established to inspire students to develop an innovative technological mindset. The university mainly admits students from the central and western regions of China, including ethnic minorities, but high tuition fees are a major barrier for some of these talented, hardworking young people. SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok said that the grants were not just to relieve the students' financial stress, but also to encourage recipients to play an active role in social initiatives and contribute to community development by helping people in need.
