SHKP issues 2013/14 Sustainability Report

SHKP is committed to integrating sustainability into its operations and plans for the future, and it has recently released the 2013/14 Sustainability Report to expound significant economic, environmental and social impacts arising from the company's operations in Hong Kong.

New data collection and management system

With a view to enhancing the efficiency in analyzing key performance metrics that helps to develop targeted strategies for improvement, SHKP developed a new internal data management system for a better consolidation of information collected from its head office and wholly-owned subsidiaries in property management–Hong Yip and Kai Shing; in construction–Sanfield; and four Royal brand hotels owned and managed by SHKP, namely The Royal Garden, Royal Park Hotel, Royal Plaza Hotel and Royal View Hotel. The system helps facilitate a systematic collection and analysis of environment, occupational health and safety as well as workforce metrics, along with other indicators.

The new Sustainability Report followed the G4 guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative and took reference from the Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting Guide set out in Appendix 27 of the Roles Governing the Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Stakeholders and the public can view and download the report on SHKP website, and delve into its approach to sustainable development and long-term commitment to business, environmental protection and community growth.
