SHKP believes that conducting business in a transparent, responsible manner and adhering to good corporate governance practices can enhance returns for the company and shareholders. SHKP was once again named Best Managed Company in Asia and Best Overall Developer in Hong Kong recently, and it was the first Hong Kong developer to publish a sustainability report following the latest Global reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 guidelines.
This was the fourth consecutive year that SHKP was named Best Managed Company in Asia by the international finance magazine Euromoney and the ninth consecutive year it was named Best Overall Developer in Hong Kong. The accolades are proof of the high reputation SHKP has earned over the years for outstanding corporate governance, management, brand and quality. The magazine does annual polls asking market analysts at leading investment banks and research institutes in Asia to name the best managed companies based on criteria including convincing and coherent strategy, corporate governance, transparent accounts, shareholder value, accessible senior management, useful and informative website and overall improvement.
SHKP began publishing independent annual sustainability reports based on GRI guidelines in 2011 to keep stakeholders well informed of its strategy, measures and long-term commitment to sustainability. The 2012/13 Sustainability Report was based on the latest GRI G4 guidelines for greater transparency, making SHKP the first Hong Kong developer to follow this international standard. It collected views from many more investors, customers, business partners, suppliers, non-governmental organizations, charities, community organizations, environmental groups and staff for the latest report. It also introduced an online survey and did a thorough analysis of the significance of different sustainable development issues to refine its strategy further.
