SHKP Vertical Run for Charity

The seventh SHKP Vertical Run for Charity–Race to Hong Kong ICC, organised by Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited (SHKP), will take place in early December. In keeping with SHKP's belief in exercising for good, all proceeds raised from the races without deducting any cost will be donated to The Hong Kong Council of Social Service and the Community Chest of Hong Kong in support of services for disadvantaged children and young people as in previous years.

The race will feature different individual and team categories. The 'Team Relay' category includes 'Corporate', 'Secondary Students', 'Tertiary Students' and 'Open'. Participants of the 'Fun Climb' event can choose between running 82 floors or 21 floors for leisure. For more details, please click to visit the official website or the Facebook page.

Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon

The Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon will return in mid-October. Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP) is the title and charity sponsor of the event for the fourth consecutive year. SHKP will continue to make extra donations this year in addition to a portion of the race proceeds from the event to help local underprivileged children and youth.

SHKP and the organiser take this year's Cyclothon to the next level by adding the Hammer Series and the SHKP Greater Bay Area Youth Trophy. Introduced to Asia for the first time, UCI 1.1 race Hammer Hong Kong will be the series finale of the Hammer Series. UCI WorldTour Teams, Pro Continental Teams and the Hong Kong National Team will compete for the championship titles. To promote youth exchange across the Greater Bay Area, SHKP will introduce the new SHKP Greater Bay Area Youth Trophy in the 50km ride. Young riders from Hong Kong, Macau and nine cities in the Greater Bay Area will be invited to join the activity. You are welcome to cheer for the riders, or participate in sideshows in the Urban Council Centenary Garden, Tsim Sha Tsui East.

SHKP Reading Club

Reading in Short Film, the third activity to celebrate SHKP Reading Club's fifth anniversary, was recently launched. This activity encourages participants to record one-minute videos of their happy reading moments on smartphones for a chance to win prizes. Their participation will turn into sponsorships for children and teens to take part in a host of creative reading activities. For more details, please click here.

For the eleventh consecutive year, SHKP sponsored some 1,300 students to visit the Hong Kong Book Fair, with each student receiving HK$250 from SHKP to buy books there. The SHKP Reading Club set up a booth at the Hong Kong Book Fair and invited speakers to host seminars in order to encourage children to make reading a habit.

SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation

The first phase of the SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation scholarship programme at Southeast University has received favourable response since its establishment in 2014. All student beneficiaries have graduated and over 60% of the beneficiaries will now go on to pursue a master's degree or a doctor of philosophy degree in a discipline of their choice. SHKP-Kwoks' Foundation Executive Director Amy Kwok was gratified and confirmed the second phase of the programme with Southeast University to help more outstanding students with limited financial means.
